An iPhone idea from 2012, completely reimagined for how people meet in 2026.
Mimble helps couples, friends, families, coworkers and groups find a fair place to meet using real travel times, venue quality, group preferences and modern decision tools.

If two people are coming from different places, why should one person always have to drive farther? The original Mimble was created to help friends identify convenient places to meet between their locations.
HuffPost included Mimble in its coverage of apps helping friends and families connect, alongside other emerging mobile services of the era.
Modern Apple Maps routing, faster iPhones, cloud infrastructure, live group collaboration and on-device intelligence created the opportunity to rebuild the original concept around what is possible today.

A look back at Mimble's first appearance in the mobile-app landscape and the original problem it set out to solve.
Read the original HuffPost articleMimble compares real Apple Maps travel times instead of simply dropping a pin at the geographic midpoint. Recommendations balance fairness, what the group wants and the quality of the venue.
Plan for one friend or an entire group. Add locations manually or start from Contacts.
Traffic-aware travel times and group preferences help surface places that make sense for everyone.
Invite the group, vote together, chat around the options and make the winning place official.
Best balance for everyone while matching your Italian dinner request.
Every recommendation receives a Mimble Score designed to help people understand how well a destination works for the whole group.
The goal isn't merely finding the middle. It's finding a place that makes sense for everyone making the trip.
“Good Italian dinner halfway between us.” “Somewhere cheaper.” “Best tacos open now.”
Mimble understands plain language and turns it into useful discovery criteria. On Apple Intelligence-capable iPhones, generative interpretation runs on-device rather than sending prompt data to Mimble or a cloud AI provider.
Mimble combines live voting, group chat, invitation links and AI-assisted refinement so the decision stays attached to the meetup instead of disappearing inside a long text thread.
The original problem never disappeared. Friends still exchange restaurant links. Couples still ask where they should go. Groups still spend too much time negotiating who has to travel farther.
What changed is the technology: modern routing, better location data, live collaboration, Apple Intelligence and substantially more capable iPhones now allow Mimble to approach the problem in a completely different way.
How an early iPhone concept was rebuilt around technologies that were unavailable when it first launched.
How real travel time changes the mathematics behind choosing a fair meeting place.
How natural language, location intelligence and group decision-making come together inside Mimble.
A founder's perspective on building the same core idea in two radically different generations of mobile technology.

Michael Krasner originally created Mimble in 2012 around a simple observation: coordinating where people should meet was unnecessarily difficult.
More than a decade later, advances in mobile technology, mapping, artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure created an opportunity to revisit the concept from an entirely new perspective.
In 2026, Krasner rebuilt and relaunched Mimble around the original mission of helping people meet more easily while taking advantage of capabilities that weren't available when the idea was first conceived.
Mimble is developed by Mimble, Inc., an independent technology development company focused on creating practical applications that use modern technology to solve everyday problems.
