MIMBLE HELP GUIDE

How to Use Mimble

Mimble finds the fairest place for everyone to meet—real travel times for each person, great venues, and a group vote to make it official. Here’s the whole flow in five minutes.

LET’S GET STARTED

From an idea to fair options.

Start with who is meeting, then tell Mimble what kind of place your group wants.

1

Start a Mimble

  • On the home screen, tap Meet Someone for one friend or Meet a Group for several people.
  • You can also jump straight in with a category: Food, Drinks, Coffee, Things to Do, Getaways, or Surprise Me.
  • Add the people who are meeting. Friends don’t need the app or an account for you to plan around them—a name and starting point are enough.
  • Tap Add from Contacts to add someone in one tap. If the selected contact has a saved address, Mimble fills in the starting location automatically.
  • Don’t know where someone is coming from? Tap the question bubble on their row to text them and ask for their address.
2

Tell Mimble what you want

  • Type your request in plain English. Mimble AI turns your words into useful filters privately on your phone.
  • Prefer direct controls? Set a price range, minimum rating, open-now preference, and how strictly Mimble should keep travel fair.
  • Choose how everyone is getting there: Drive, Walk, or Transit. Travel times and fairness calculations follow the selected mode.
Try: “Good Italian dinner halfway between us,” “cheap tacos open now,” or “somewhere quiet with cocktails.”
3

See the fairest spots

  • Every recommendation receives a Mimble Score based on each person’s real travel time, venue ratings, and your selected filters. It is never just a geographic midpoint.
  • Recommendation cards show a street-level preview and each person’s travel time.
  • Tap a place to see hours, photos, and reviews from Apple Maps, a Look Around preview, the complete travel-time breakdown, and a plain-English explanation of why Mimble selected it.
  • Switch to Map view to see everyone’s starting points and the search area.
4

Invite the group

  • Tap Share to send the Mimble invitation.
  • Friends who already have Mimble can tap the link and land directly in the shared plan.
  • Friends without the app can download it and enter the six-character invite code under Join a Mimble on the home screen.
  • You’ll see who has joined on your home screen and in the group chat, with a chime when a new participant arrives.
5

Decide together

  • Everyone votes 👍, 🤷, or 👎 on the options. Votes synchronize live with the whole group.
  • Talk through the choices in the built-in group chat. The conversation remains attached to the plan.
  • Mention @mimble in chat to bring the AI into the conversation and refresh options for everyone.
  • When a place is winning, tap Make It Official. The group sees the winner, gets one-tap directions using the chosen travel mode, can add the meetup to the calendar, and receives a reminder 30 minutes before.
Try in chat: “@mimble somewhere cheaper” or “@mimble best margaritas.”

POWER MOVES

Get even more from Mimble.

Shortcuts for starting faster, adjusting the plan, and bringing a group back together.

Start with Siri

Say, “Hey Siri, start a Mimble.” Siri asks who you’re meeting and what you want, then opens Mimble with the details filled in.

Change your mind anytime

Tap the sliders button on the results screen to reopen price, rating, timing, fairness, and transport settings, then rebuild the list for the group.

Plan a getaway

Choose Getaways to search resorts, beaches, wineries, and destinations across a much wider area than a dinner or coffee search.

Run it back

Open a past meetup under Recent Mimbles and tap Duplicate to plan it again with the same group.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Good to know.

Do my friends need accounts?

No. No one needs a traditional account. Invitees can join with a link or code, participate in chat, and vote.

Does Mimble track my location?

Mimble uses your location only while you’re using the app to calculate fair meeting places. It does not create a location-history profile. You can also enter a different starting location instead of using your current location.

Why don’t I see AI suggestions?

Generative Mimble AI requires an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence enabled. On other supported devices, Mimble still understands common phrases such as “cheap,” “open now,” or “subway” using keyword-based interpretation.

Why is a place’s travel time approximate?

When live traffic data is briefly unavailable, Mimble may estimate travel time from distance so the recommendation list does not get stuck. Times refresh the next time the list is rebuilt.

Where can I find this guide in the app?

Open Mimble and tap the question-mark button from Home, or go to Settings → Help.
